Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)
1 Session $275
3 Sessions $725
Microneedling (aka collagen induction therapy or CIT) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars, stretch marks, traumatic scars and improvement of the skin’s textures, tone and color (hyper-pigmentation and sun spots). This concept of aesthetic has been around since the 1990s and has been upgraded with the microneedling pen to have more precise and improved results.
During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. The micro-channels that are created allows for topic gels, creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively, enhancing their effects. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis, wrinkle reduction, tone improvement, softer skin with fewer signs of aging and reverses years of sun damage.
The procedure feels similar to sandpaper being moved across the skin. Some areas may be more sensitive than others.
On average, patients are red for 2-4 days. Some may be completely healed in 24 hours. Visible changes develop over the course of several weeks and continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment.
It is recommended to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For patients with more advanced photo-aging, deeper wrinkles, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6 week intervals.
